SMART ALERT Volume XI Issue XVIII Delays in Assignment and Processing of Patient RINs (pdf)
Signed Secretarys Letter eRIN 12 18 17 (pdf)
Please see the attached letter from Secretary Dimas for an update regarding the processing of Recipient Identification Numbers (RINs). Implementation of a new RIN system has led to delays, currently about 10 - 12 days, but the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) is working hard to improve the processing time.
Please note that all submitted RIN requests will be processed. Please refrain from resubmitting requests - resubmissions add to the backlog.
The Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA) is aware that delays in the assignment are affecting providers' ability to bill for services and receive payment. Providers with billing issues due to delayed RIN assignments can contact Rick Nance at Rick.Nance@illinois.gov. We appreciate your continued patience!
