PM 20-05-03-a: Provider Duties

WAG 20-05-03-a.

The primary care physician must provide or authorize the following non-emergency services:

• physician;
• prescriptions;
• clinical;
• outpatient hospital; and
• lab.

HFS will not pay for services the primary care physician did not approve.

The primary care pharmacy or HMO must fill all covered prescriptions. Only when the pharmacy or HMO does not have the drug can a prescription be filled at another pharmacy.

Other covered services not listed may be provided by qualified providers without restriction.
