WAG 19-02-05-a: Reporting a REDE

IES Phase 2 Process

new text Upon implementation of the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) phase 2, the process for completing a redetermination is changed. The REDE process is described in PM 19-02-04.

Legacy Process

Submit Form 552 to report a completed REDE. The REDE is considered complete on the date the REDE decision is entered in the case record. Report a REDE by updating Item 30.

For category 94 and 96 cases, update Item 30 when a Redetermination Application (Form 4765) is processed for SNAP benefits that verifies the family is still eligible for medical benefits. Report a REDE for a companion case if all eligibility factors for the companion case are provided on Form 4765.

Cash Cases

  • Item 2 -Enter the month and year of the current processing month.
  • Item 3 -Complete as needed.
  • Item 30 -Enter the month and year the REDE was actually completed.
  • Item 33 -For AABD, complete if necessary.
  • Item 44 -See WAG 27-44-00.
  • Items 50-52 -Complete when necessary.

Medical Cases

NOTE: Includes Medical Only (Community, LTC, and SLF), QMB Only, and SLIB Only cases

Do not cancel the case if the client is no longer eligible for Medical and is QMB or SLIB eligible. If eligible for QMB or SLIB, continue QMB or SLIB benefits (see WAG 25-08-02-c for QMB, or WAG 25-08-02-d for SLIB). Cancel the case if the client is no longer eligible for Medical and the case is not QMB Only or SLIB Only eligible (see WAG 25-07-05).

If the case continues to be eligible for Medical, QMB Only, or SLIB Only, complete Form 552 as follows:

  • Item 2 -Enter the month and year of the current processing month.
  • Item 3 -Complete as needed.
  • Item 30 -Enter the month and year the REDE was actually completed.
  • Item 44 -See WAG 27-44-00.
  • Items 50-52 -Complete when necessary.
  • Item 80 -Complete as needed.

Example: If the established 12-month period is 01/02 through 12/02, the REDE cycle is 01/02 through 12/02. The date that appears in Item 32 is 12/02. The REDE is due 12/02. The case appears on the PAL in 11/02 (the month before the date in Item 32). 12/02 (12th month of the REDE cycle) appears under the heading "Due for Redetermination" on the PAL.
