IES determines when a family becomes eligible for Family Assist.
Example 1: An FS REDE application is received for a family of 2. The Family Assist Standard is $412. The family reports earned income of $810. IES determines eligibility as follows:
Gross Earned Income |
$810 |
MAGI Deductions |
-$50 |
Sub-Total |
$760 |
Countable Income |
$760 |
Family Assist Standard |
$412 |
The family is eligible for All Kids/FamilyCare Assist and no further action is needed. The family is not eligible for Family Assist.
Example 2: A family of 4 reports that their earned income has decreased to $510. IES determines eligibility as follows:
Gross Earned Income |
$510 |
MAGI Deductions |
-$75 |
Sub-Total |
$435 |
Countable Income |
$435 |
Family Assist Standard |
$628 |
IES compares countable income to the Family Assist Standard. Since countable income is less than the Family Assist Standard, the family is eligible for Family Assist.
