It is important that the newborn of a mother who is covered under HFS medical benefits for the newborn's birth receives medical benefits for the first year, unless they no longer live in Illinois.

If a newborn is added to an existing case and other EDGs on the case become ineligible before their first birthday, do not terminate benefits for the newborn unless they no longer live in Illinois.
