WAG 17-05-00.
Assign eligible SNAP applicants a specific beginning and ending month for approved benefits. This period of time, called the approval period, is expressed in fiscal months.
The length of the approval period cannot be more than 12 fiscal months. Base the approval period on the circumstances of the SNAP unit. SNAP benefits stop at the end of the approval period unless the SNAP unit makes a new SNAP application and continues to be eligible. See PM 19-03-06 for establishing a new approval period if the SNAP unit reapplies and continues to be eligible.
If an incorrect approval period is assigned by mistake, correct it. Send a timely notice if the approval period is not as long.
