PM 17-04-03-a: Application for SNAP benefits and Other Benefits

WAG 17-04-03-a

When an applicant is determined ineligible for SNAP, but is potentially eligible for the other cash or medical benefits, do not deny the SNAP benefits until the earlier of:

• the date the cash or medical application is denied; or
• the 30th day after the application date.

Note: The gross monthly income of the SNAP household must be verified before an application for SNAP can be denied for income being over the income standard for the household size (WAG 13-01-01-a). A SNAP application cannot be denied based solely on the applicant's statement of the household's income.
