PM 09-02-03-b: AABD Cases

WAG 09-02-03-b.

During the application process, or when doing an eligibility REDE, determine if a responsible relative is living with the client. The Family Community Resource Center determines the responsible relative's ability to provide support.

If the responsible relative is living with the client, include the responsible relative's income for Medical and determine the amount to budget for AABD Cash.

  • The AABD Cash Standard applies if the client is applying for or receiving AABD Cash or zero grant.

Use the AABD Cash Standard to determine if the responsible relative has income sufficient to meet the responsible relative's needs. If income exceeds the needs, use the excess amount to determine if there is income sufficient to meet the client's needs.

  • The AABD Medical Standard applies if the client is applying for or receiving Medical.

Add the responsible relative's nonexempt income and/or assets to the client's income and assets. Use the combined nonexempt income and assets when determining the client's Medical eligibility and/or spenddown amount.
