Initial Eligibility Period
(FCRC/All Kids Unit) Approve MPE coverage for a woman not in an active case who has not applied for ongoing benefits. The benefit period begins with the MPE decision date and ends the last day of the following month.
Example 1: An MPE decision date of 07/01 means MPE coverage runs from 07/01 through 08/31.
Example 2: An MPE decision date of 07/19 means MPE coverage runs from 07/19 through 08/31.
Example 3: An MPE decision date of 07/31 means MPE coverage runs from 07/31 through 08/31.
Additional Eligibility Period
(FCRC/All Kids Unit) Approve a 90-day extension of MPE benefits, starting with the date of application for ongoing benefits, for a woman who applies for ongoing benefits.
Example 1: An MPE decision is made on 08/24. The pregnant woman receives initial coverage from 08/24 through 09/30. She applies for ongoing assistance 08/30. The 90-day MPE extension runs 08/30 through 11/28. Overall MPE coverage is 08/24 through 11/28.
Example 2: An MPE decision is made on 07/01. She applies for ongoing assistance 8/31. The 90-day MPE extension runs 08/31 through 11/28. Overall MPE coverage is 07/01 through 11/28.
