PM 03-05-04: Absence of Adult

WAG 03-05-04.

A caretaker relative or legal guardian can be away from the home if:

• they're gone for less than 3 months ; and
• they don't set up a permanent home somewhere else.

Consider a person incarcerated on the first day of the fiscal month through the last day of the fiscal month ineligible for cash, medical, and SNAP benefits. Eligibility exists for the entire fiscal month, if the person is eligible on the first day of the fiscal month. A person who is serving in home detention is not considered absent or incarcerated; they remain eligible for assistance.
