WAG 02-08-04-a.

Do not require applicants to furnish SSNs, or to prove they have applied for them, before issuing expedited SNAP benefits. But before you issue the first month's SNAP benefits, ask the applicant to:

• provide SSNs, if available; or
• provide proof of application for an SSN for everyone requesting SNAP benefits.
