IES Phase 2 Process
Electronic Notices, Email and Mobile Phone Text Alerts
Alerts are sent to the customer to notify them of a new electronic notice available for viewing in their ABE account. The customer can opt to receive an email alert only or an email and mobile phone text alert. Customers cannot choose to receive a mobile text alert only.
- (Customer) Logs into ABE account and navigates to Manage Your Communication Preferences through the Account Management tab.
- (IES) Automatically defaults the preferred delivery method for written notices to "Paper and Electronic."
- (IES) Sends all notices to the customer via mail and posts an electronic PDF version of the notice to the customer's ABE account to view.
Electronic Only
- (Customer) On the Manage Your Communication Preferences screen, selects "Electronic Only."
- (Customer) Validates their email address.
- (IES) Sends Form 1119, Congratulations on Going Green to confirm enrollment.
- (IES) Posts all notices to the customer's ABE account. No paper notices are mailed to the customer.
Email only or Email and Text Message to Email Account
(IES) Sends the email below to customer's registered email address when a new notice is posted in their ABE account and their communication preference is "Email only" or "Email and Text Message".

Email and Text Message to Mobile Phone
(IES) Sends the text message below to the customer's mobile phone when their communication preference is "Email and Text Message".

Opt Out of Email
If the customer previously received email notifications, they can opt out of email when they switch from "Electronic Only" back to "Paper and Electronic".
- (Customer) Logs into ABE account and navigates to the Manage Your Communication Preferences Screen.
- (Customer) Selects "Paper and Electronic" and "I do not want to receive alerts."
- (IES) Sends the email below to the customer's registered email address.

(IES) In addition to the email, sends the confirmation text below to the customer's mobile phone
when the customer decides to opt out of email and mobile phone text message alerts.
