Homemaker and Maintenance Home Health Agencies,

Section 12006 of the 21st Century CURES Act (42 USC 1396b(l)) and the Save Medicaid Access and Resources Together (SMART) Act, (Public Act 97-689), require Homemaker and Maintenance Home Health Agencies providing services to customers of the Home Services Program (HSP) to utilize a system for electronic visit verification (EVV) as a condition of participation in the Program.

The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) currently contracts with Sandata Technologies as the EVV vendor for HSP. You will not be required to use Sandata Technologies, however you will be required to disclose which EVV vendor you use and arrange for your EVV vendor to send visit data in an agreed upon format to Sandata Aggregator system on a regular basis.

    EVV Agency Training:

The Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Rehabilitation Services (DHS/DRS) has implemented a new "Electronic Visit Verification" (EVV) system for its Home Services Program (HSP). This system will help make timekeeping for individual providers, homemakers and home health care agencies faster, easier, and more accurate. We started using the new EVV system on January 1, 2014.
