A person turning age 65 is eligible if they qualify for one month of benefits; otherwise, deny due to age.
Example A: Application date is October 1st. Medical backdating is requested for July, August, and September. The person attains age 65 on September 9. The person is only eligible for July, August, and September.
Example B: Application date is October 1st. Medical backdating is requested for July, August, and September. A person attains age 65 on October 1. The person is eligible July through October.
Example C: Application date is July 15th. Medical backdating is requested for April, May and June. The person's screening that resulted in a diagnosis of cervical cancer was performed on May 5th. Eligibility can be backdated no earlier than May 1st
