- All of our current vacancies are posted online. We have transitioned to a fully online application process. The CMS100 application is no longer used.

CMS has Testing Centers in Chicago, Springfield, Champaign, Marion and Rockford, and exams are by appointment only. You will need to bring a photo ID to test. There is no charge to test.

Upward Mobility
- Upward Mobility is a joint venture program between CMS and AFSCME. Certified state workers are eligible for this program, and can work toward advancement in the following major career paths: Data Processing, Office Services, Accounting, Human Services, Criminal Justice, and Nursing. Through Upward Mobility, current state workers can utilize extra contractual rights to find placements in certain Upward Mobility Target titles, via promotion, transfer, or voluntary reduction.
