The coding in this item is for SNAP work requirement/SNAP E & T program status. Enter one of the following codes for each person in the case. Enter a code even if the customer lives in an area that is exempt from the SNAP work requirement.

Exempt Due to Person Being Under Age 18, or Age 50 or Older

Centrally entered for a person under age 18 or age 50 or older who is incorrectly coded.

MANDATORY REGISTRANT -

Person age 18 through 49 who meets work requirement by working 80 hours per month or by earning at least the federal minimum wage times 80 hours ($580)

Centrally entered when the amount of income entered in Item 90 codes 801 or 802 totals $580, or there is a Source code W in any of those income codes. The code is centrally changed if the criteria is not met.

Exempt Due to Being Physically or Mentally Unable to Work or Pregnant

This code is centrally entered if a person is coded with Item 90 Income code 510, 511, 517, 519, 520, or 691.

Exempt Due to Receipt of Unemployment Insurance Benefits

This code is centrally entered if the person is coded with Item 90 Income code 516. The code is centrally changed if code 516 is not in Item 90.

4 Exempt Due to Participating in a Drug Addiction or Alcoholic Treatment and Rehabilitation Program
5 Exempt Due to Enrollment at Least Half-time in a School, Training Program, or an Institution of Higher Education
6 Exempt Due to Responsible for the Care of an Incapacitated Person

Person is Exempt Due to a Child Under Age 18 in the SNAP Unit.

Code centrally entered when there is a person age 17 or younger in the SNAP Unit.

MANDATORY REGISTRANT -

Person age 18 through 49 who must meet the SNAP work requirement and comply with the SNAP E&T program.

MANDATORY REGISTRANT -

Person age 18 through 49 who meets the SNAP work requirement by participating in:

  • income-in-kind (working at least 80 hours per month);
  • community work;
  • a workfare program of a local GA unit; or
  • one of the following SNAP E&T activities:
    • Earnfare, or
    • Work Experience
    • Basic Education or Vocational Training (80 hours per month)

This code is centrally entered if the person is coded with Item 90 Income code 505.

NOTE: A Form 552 is produced when Item 73 is centrally changed.
