This sub-topic contains TARs that are used to:

  • change case information;
  • reduce, cancel, suspend, or resume monthly benefits on a SNAP Only case; or
  • start, cancel, suspend, or resume FS on a Cash/SNAP or Medical/SNAP case.

These TARs can be used with TA 14, TA 31, TA 40, or TA 41.

Central Budgeting of Child Support Pass Through for SNAP (TA 31)

The system uses this TAR to centrally budget child support pass through for SNAP. Form 157C is sent if SNAP benefits reduce.

Central Budgeting of Pay-in Spenddown Payments (TA 31)

The system uses this TAR to centrally budget pay-in spenddown payments as a SNAP medical expense deduction.

Central Deletion of Pay-in Spenddown Payments (TA 32)

The system uses these TARs to centrally delete pay-in spenddown payments from Item 80 Code 352 TME. Form 157c is sent if SNAP benefits reduce. The system uses TAR 00 if there is no change in the SNAP benefit amount.

SNAP Work Sanction or Intentional Program Violation (TA 31, Item 15 = 4)

Enter one of the following TARs when changing a person's SNAP status due to an SNAP Work Sanction or Intentional Program Violation (IPV) disqualification and the SNAP unit remains eligible.

TAR REASON
47 Remove person from active program status due to an IPV disqualification. Use of TAR 47 does not generate Form 157C. The Family Community Resource Center send Form 2550/2550C.
48 Resume active SNAP status. Use to put someone back in a SNAP unit, if disqualified in error.

Remove person from active program status due to a SNAP Work Sanction because a member quit a job, reduced work to less than 30 hours per week, did not accept a job offer, or failed to cooperate with SNAP E&T. Central Notice of Change - SNAP Work Sanction Form 157F is sent based on coding in Item 80 code 242.

SNAP Cancellation (TA 31 and Item 15 = dash)

(Cash/SNAP or Medical/SNAP Case)

The following TAR is used when SNAP benefits are centrally deleted for a Cash/SNAP case or Medical/SNAP case that loses eligibility for simplified processing.
