PM 22-01-01-f: Changing the Personal Identification Number (PIN)

A customer can change the PIN at any time by contacting the Illinois Link Help Line at 1-800-678-LINK (5465) or going to the the Link Card website at www.link.illinois.gov. They do not have to know the old PIN to get a new one. A new Illinois Link Card is not issued unless the customer requests a replacement card.

If four wrong PIN numbers are entered in a row at a store or ATM, the Link account is frozen until either:

  • new manual textThe customer changes their PIN by contacting the Illinois Link Help Line at 1-800-678-LINK (5465) or going to the Link Card website at www.link.illinois.gov.
  • new manual textThe customer visits a Family Community Resource Center (FCRC) to have their failed PIN attempts reset.
