FAQ 444-26-2379-03

Question: We wanted to clarify, do we need to do both: support existing deflection sites AND to develop other sites?

Answer: This NOFO is to help communities build collaborative partnerships utilizing any of the 6 pathways. The organization will be expected to support existing deflection sites and develop new relationships within those sites. The development of those new relationships could include developing new partners within an existing deflection site (i.e. local law enforcement). The organization will also assist communities in increasing the number of pathways as deflection becomes established in those communities. The organizations will also develop sites/areas of the state that don't have a deflection program.

Question: What are SUPR's goals and objectives for this NOFO?

Answer: $4,000,000 is allocated for this project. The goal of this NOFO is to strengthen the current Deflection Initiative across the state by increasing the number of referrals between law enforcement and substance use treatment and recovery services. The organization will utilize their expertise to plan, implement, develop, and sustain a comprehensive deflection initiative that will improve access to substance use treatment and recovery services by creating immediate pathways in communities between law enforcement/other first responders and community-based services. This access to services will include relentless community engagement and community intervention services that connect individuals to treatment and recovery services. The organization will engage communities utilizing any of the 6 pathways.
