IDHS/SUPR Licensed Organizations Delivering DUI Evaluation Services: Assessing Training Needs and Information about New Objective Tests

To identify training needs and information about new objective tests, Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) is conducting a survey, in cooperation with Prevention First, to gather information about your training needs and the objective test your organization plans to use if you need to select a new one. This information will assist IDHS/SUPR effectively plan for additional trainings and project the number of organizations selecting the Impaired Driving Assessment (IDA). IDHS/SUPR is requesting that each location licensed to provide DUI evaluation services complete the survey by January 22, 2025. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Once we identify information about objective tests, IDHS/SUPR will plan for additional IDA trainings to ensure all staff that need training can register and participate in an IDA training. We also anticipate conducting additional IDA trainings in winter/spring/summer 2025.

IDHS/SUPR highly encourages the authorized organization representatives (AORs) to share this Smart Alert with staff to ensure the survey is completed and that they aware of the January 2025 trainings dates (this information was shared in the Smart Alert dated November 13, 2024).

As a reminder, below is information about upcoming Impaired Driving Assessment trainings scheduled for organizations licensed to provide DUI services. The same training will be repeated two times in January 2025:

January 7, 2025: 9 AM - 1 PM

January 15, 2025: 9 AM - 1 PM

Registration for the trainings listed above are first come/first serve basis, and each training is limited to 50 participants. If your staff register for a training and do not receive a confirmation, then your staff will be placed on a waiting list. We encourage your staff to register as it will also help us identify additional trainings needs to meet their needs.

To participate, staff must register for one of the trainings. If staff have not participated in any training offered by Prevention First, they will need to register to set up an account before registering.
