The LGBTQIA+ population face stigma and discrimination at higher rates than their heterosexual counterparts. Add to this HIV and the rates of depression, anxiety, and substance usage increases. Allowing those living with and at-risk for HIV to access treatment in a supporting environment increases adherence to appointments and medication compliance. Open Door is best suited to meet the needs of the community.
Open Door is looking to rebuild its Behavioral Health Program to those at-risk for and living with HIV/AIDS. In the past, Open Door had a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who were also Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors. This support allowed for the clients/patients/customers an opportunity to receive supportive services in an environment that was stigma and bias free. Services in-house allowed for the psychiatrist, therapist, medical, and support services to be interconnected, which in turn increases health outcomes.
The Grantee will rebuild its Behavioral Health Program to those at-risk for and living with HIV/AIDS. The Grantee will provide:
