The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) and the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB), in an effort to be transparent and accountable for the opioid settlement funds received, will annually publish a report of settlement funds received and distributed. IDHS/SUPR has published the first Illinois Remediation Fund State Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Report and the report is now available.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the activities and plans executed by the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board (IORAB) and the Governor's Opioid Overdose Prevention and Recovery Steering Committee during State fiscal year 2024. The report is designed to inform stakeholders and partners about the achievements realized over the past year, and the newly developed vision and goals for settlement fund use in the future.
The vision is to eliminate health inequities related to opioid misuse and reverse the harms inflicted on our communities, with a particular focus on those disproportionately impacted by the opioid crisis. As noted in the report, funding from the Illinois Opioid Remediation Trust Fund will help Illinois RISE from the opioid crisis and strengthen our recovery-oriented system of care.
The creation of this report was guided by a clear intention to define the IORAB's vision in addressing the opioid crisis and the thoughtful utilization of the settlement funds. If you have questions on the report, please contact DHS.OpioidSettlementFunds@Illinois.gov.
