PM 15-07-04: Child Born to Active AABD Client

WAG 15-07-04.

A child born to an active AABD client is eligible for Medicaid for up to one year from the date of birth if:

• the mother was eligible for and received AABD Cash or medical without a spenddown when the child was born, and
• the newborn lives with the mother, including a newborn who must remain in the hospital immediately after birth.

An application is not needed to provide medical for the newborn. All that is needed is the child's name and birth date. This information may be reported to the worker by the client, the client's representative, the hospital, or other medical provider.
