About the Handbook
The Illinois WIC Vendor Handbook explains the rules that all vendors must follow. It is part of your contract with the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). The handbook is organized into sections so you can find the information you need.

How to Use This Handbook
- Use the handbook if you need the official rule or regulation.
- For everyday guidance, see the Operating as a Vendor page.
- For stocking lists and authorized foods, see the Resources section.
- If there is a conflict, the WIC Vendor Contract is the official source.
Important Reminder
- Vendors are expected to know and follow all rules in the Illinois WIC Vendor Handbook
- Failure to follow these rules may result in sanctions, repayment, or termination from the WIC Program.
