When the adult with 60 months is the parent of a child in the case (at least one child has code 01-05 in Item 62) and there is a minor parent and their child in the case, the system places the case in zero grant for the month the
counter would equal 61. It uses TA 32/ TAR 77 to enter Item 34 code E. TAR 77 generates the following Form 157C message:
You have received TANF Cash benefits for the lifetime limit of 5 years and do not qualify for an exception. There is a child(ren) in your case who may still qualify for cash. Contact your worker to find out more. PM 03-06
Obtain a mail-in application from the minor. Delete the minor and child from the zero grant case and SWAP it. Set up a new cash case for the minor and their child. The adult who met the lifetime benefit limit may be the RPT.
If the minor parent and their child are the only children on the case, obtain a mail-in application from the minor. Delete the ineligible parent from the case using TA 34/TAR 60, and remove code E from Item 34. Change the case number and make the
minor parent the caretaker. The adult who met the lifetime benefit limit may be the RPT. Set up an adult-only 94 or 96 case for the deleted ineligible parent.
See WAG 03-06-00 for more information about the 60-month limit.
