PM 11-03-04: Personal or Nursing Care in a Home Not Subject to Licensing

WAG 11-03-04

For a client to receive an allowance for personal or nursing care in a home not subject to licensing, the specific home must be approved to provide the care. The adequacy of the care and the home must be reviewed at least annually by the Regional Medical Assistance Consultant.

The personal or nursing care allowance is authorized by Family Community Resource Center staff, after approval has been received from the HFS Bureau of Long Term Care.

Only clients living in homes that provide care for fewer than 3 persons may be approved.

Do not authorize an allowance for care provided by a parent, child, or spouse of the client. But, payment to other relatives can be allowed provided the approval criteria is met.
