DDD Communication - EVV Updates
May 17, 2023
The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) continues to provide information and updates regarding the implementation of the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) program for DDD's waivers. Please see below for a host of information regarding upcoming training opportunities, website information, and policies. If there are questions, please reach out to DDD via the EVV email address: DHS.DDDEVV@illinois.gov.
UPCOMING TRAININGS
DDD is collaborating with ACES$ to conduct introductory presentations on EVV. The presentations will discuss what EVV is; why it's being implemented; how it'll impact the PSW, customer, and employer; information on the live-in caregiver exemption; how to comply with EVV; how to get prepared for implementation; and frequently asked questions. The presentation will be primarily geared toward customers who self-direct their services and the PSWs they hire but it will also be beneficial to anyone else associated with Personal Support services. Please see below for information on the 2 upcoming EVV presentations including date, time and registration link. Both will be recorded and posted on the DDD EVV webpage for those unable to attend either session.
Presentation 1:
Date: Thursday, May 25, 2023
Time: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Registration: Registration Link May 25th
Presentation 2:
Date: Friday, May 26, 2023

DDD EVV WEBSITE
DDD has recently developed an EVV webpage for the DDD EVV program. The webpage includes the recordings and slides for the EVV Kickoff Meetings (held in March) and DDD Listening Sessions (held in April). DDD will be adding additional information to this website, as it is developed and published. The link to the website is: IDHS: Illinois' Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) (state.il.us).
EVV UPDATE ON LIVE-IN CAREGIVERS
DDD wanted to remind stakeholders that, last week, HFS announced an update to the EVV requirements for live-in caregivers. Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who meet the definition of live-in caregiver will be exempt from complying with EVV requirements. DDD will be posting policy on the live-in caregiver exemption soon. The HFS Provider Notice of this change can be found here: Provider Notice issued 05/10/2023 (illinois.gov).
