PM 07-04-04: Homestead Property

WAG 07-04-04

Homestead property is exempt. It is the dwelling where the SNAP unit usually lives and any surrounding property that is not separated from the home by someone else's property. A public right of way does not break up homestead property.

A home temporarily unoccupied due to employment, training for future employment, illness, or inhabitability caused by casualty or natural disaster, is exempt if the SNAP unit intends to return.

Also exempt is a lot owned or being purchased by a SNAP unit if the unit intends to build or is building a permanent home and the unit does not currently own a home. The value of the lot and the partially completed home are exempt.
