FY23 SEP REVALIDATION PROCESS

Beginning April 3, 2023, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) will be conducting its annual revalidation of all active DDD Supported Employment Program (SEP) awards. Information regarding the revalidation process can be found here: DDD SEP FY23 Revalidation Guidelines. This webpage is linked from the DDD Employment webpage.

Similar to the process followed in the first DDD SEP Revalidation process that occurred in FY22, SEP provider agencies are directed to submit the appropriate documentation to their respective Independent Service Coordination (ISC) agency or agencies for all individuals utilizing DDD SEP, Individual and Group, to maintain Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE). Unlike the FY22 Revalidation, provider agencies will not be given a list of all active DDD SEP awards as each agency has a record of this from last year.

FY23 Revalidation pertains to all DDD SEP awards that were revalidated in FY22 as well as all new/initial awards activated prior to April 3, 2023. The process to request new/initial requests for DDD SEP is not impacted by Revalidation. New/initial requests submitted and approved prior to April 3rd, 2023, are subject to FY23 Revalidation. New/initial requests submitted and processed after April 3rd, 2023, are subject to future Revalidation.

Please do not submit any FY23 Revalidation requests before April 3, 2023.

Ahead of the start of the FY23 Revalidation process, the DDD will be offering a webinar training and Q/A session. The webinar will take place on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. The webinar's target audience is anyone who plays a role in, or wants to learn more about, DDD SEP. Information including the registration link for the webinar can be found below.

Date: Tuesday, March 28, 2023
Time: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

UPCOMING EVV WEBINARS

DDD announced earlier this week that we will be hosting two webinars next Thursday (3/30) and Friday (3/31) in partnership with the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) and the new Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) vendor, HHA eXchange. As a reminder, EVV is a federal mandate passed by Congress in 2016 via the 21st Century Cures Act. It requires states to implement technology-based systems that verify personal care services provided during home visits.

If you wish to submit questions for the webinar, please send those to DHS.DDDComments@illinois.gov. Please use the links below to register for one of the webinars.
