FY24 Continuation Application CFSA 444-80-2459

Program Description: The Community Equity Grassroots E&T Initiative will work with community-based organizations in economically disadvantaged communities to help participants acquire education, training, and employment related skills and to assist in finding and maintaining employment. The program is designed to support and enhance the employment and training programs being offered by deeply rooted organizations in economically hard-hit communities that are seen as anchor organizations and are well established and are trusted as places that people come to get assistance, support and fulfillment in life. Participants will earn a weekly stipend for participation in the program and will receive supportive services while participating in the program. Employment and Training services will be provided to low-income individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed. Services will be provided by organizations located in the same hard-hit areas as the program participants they will be serving.

Eligibility is limited to Bureau of Employment & Training grantees currently funding under CFSA 23-444-80-2459.

To be eligible to apply, all current grantees must be registered in the Illinois GATA Grantee Portal, meet the Pre-Qualification Process, and complete the FY24 Internal Control Questionnaire (in the GATA Grantee Portal). See Grant Application Information and Instructions webpage for more detail.

At the time of application, all Bureau grantees must submit for each grant program the following documents:

  • Last 4 digits of CSFA #2459
  • Provider Organization Name

The Bureau of Employment and Training reserves the right to request additional information from the applicant to assist in FY24 funding and programmatic decisions.
