Managed Care for Children’s Waiver Participants

Dear Stakeholders:

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has been informed by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) that all youth receiving services through the Children's Support Waiver and the Children's Residential Waiver will be required to enroll with a Managed Care Organization (MCO) for their state plan services effective July 1, 2023. There are limited exceptions for youth meeting any exclusion criteria. This will in NO WAY impact your waiver services. There will be a process wherein an individual and family member or guardian will have a choice in the selection of their MCO ahead of July 1, 2023.

The DDD, in partnership with HFS, will be conducting a webinar for interested waiver participants, family members, guardians, provider agencies, or other stakeholders who wish to learn more about Managed Care, MCOs and the implementation and timeline for this change. Those interested in attending will be required to register ahead of the webinar. Please see below for presentation details including the registration link.

Date: Tuesday, November 29, 2022

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to DHS.DDDComments@illinois.gov ahead of the webinar.

Thank you.
