Gathering community input to inform the Home Illinois Plan
The Illinois Interagency Task Force on Homelessness & Community Advisory Council on Homelessness delivered a strategic plan to Governor Pritzker and the IL General Assembly on June 2022.
A Community Webinar was held on March 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM to present the draft plan and receive feedback from community members. Written feedback on the plan was collected from March 10 to April 15, 2022.
Ending Homelessness Listening Sessions
The Illinois Office to Prevent and End Homelessness and the Supportive Housing Providers Association (SHPA) partnered with the Northwestern Illinois Continuum of Care (CoC) and local communities to gather input on what should be included in the State Plan. Illinoisans provided feedback on how the State of Illinois can work across agencies and with communities to best serve people experiencing homelessness and housing security.
Numerous sessions were held across Illinois including meetings in-person or via a streaming platform. Persons experiencing homelessness and/or housing instability were encouraged to attend and received a $25 gift card for participation. To ensure resident voices were heard, there were dedicated sessions for persons experiencing homelessness and housing stability only. People experiencing homelessness and housing instability were welcome to attend any session they chose.
