Residency Agreements - Room and Board Clarification

Residency agreements through the HCBS settings rule offers people who live in provider controlled homes the same rights afforded to those who have leases with separate landlords. Included in this is the right to know now much the person is spending for rent or room and board. For more information, check out the IDHS: Residency Agreement for Provider Owned or Controlled Settings (state.il.us).

Providers are recommended to utilize the following for the residency agreement's room and board amounts.

• 24 hour CILA - Room and Board on the rates sheet (minus $60). There is a specific line on the rate sheet.
• ICILA - IDHS: Intermittent CILA (ICILA) Services and Supports Clarification of Program Scope and Billing - REVISED (state.il.us)
• Host Family CILA - IDHS: Host Family CILA - REVISED (state.il.us).
• CLF - the amount of unearned income (SSI/SSDI minus $60); CGH - Room
