IDHS/SUPR FY22 4th Quarter Training Schedule

The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) invites you to participate in several upcoming trainings scheduled during the fourth (4th) quarter of fiscal year 2022. These trainings offer support in being compliant with Administrative Rule 2060, staff development, and encourage the use of best practices in substance use disorder treatment.

IDHS/SUPR 4th Quarter Training Calendar

Please review the attached IDHS/SUPR FY22 4th Quarter Training Calendar for a list of trainings sponsored by IDHS/SUPR that are scheduled between April through June 2022. IDHS/SUPR encourages your organization to review the calendar as it includes descriptions, dates and times for each training, and registration information. IDHS/SUPR has also included FY22 IDHS/SUPR Training Registration Instructions. This document outlines how to register for the trainings.

Please note that Prevention First is coordinating these trainings. Some new trainings include:

IDHS/SUPR strongly encourages authorized organization representatives (AORs) to share the IDHS/SUPR FY22 4th Quarter Training Calendar with critical clinical staff and support their participation in these important trainings.

Registration will remain open until all training slots are full. IDHS/SUPR cannot expand the number of slots available for these trainings. Therefore, early registration is highly encouraged. The trainings are free and CEUs will be offered for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADCs), social workers and licensed clinical professional counselors.

As a reminder, IDHS/SUPR-funded organizations can bill for participation in these trainings. Staff time spent in an IDHS/SUPR sponsored training can be billed to Community Intervention using activity code 35.

Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR): Core Competencies for Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals- Virtual Workshops

The AMSR for Substance Use Disorder Treatment Professionals (AMSR-SUD) develops skills in the recognition, assessment, and management of suicide risk and the delivery of effective suicide-specific interventions. For more information, please visit AMSR-SUD.

These trainings are for professionals who offer any level of substance use treatment to individuals at risk for suicide including counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrist, and psychiatric nurses. This round of AMSR trainings is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

The one-day training will be conducted four times from 9:00am-5:00pm CST on the following dates:

  • April 6, 2022
  • April 12, 2022
  • April 15, 2022
  • May 6, 202

IDPH is in the process of obtaining CEUs from multiple organizations. You are encouraged to visit the registration links regularly to obtain updates about CEUs.

DUI Service Provider Orientation

IDHS/SUPR is sharing information about the Spring 2022 SUPR DUI Service Provider Orientation and Advanced Trainings that are coordinated by the University of Illinois-Springfield (UIS).

Two, 3-day Basic Service Provider Orientations are scheduled for April 12-14, 2022, and May 24-26, 2022.

The Advanced Training, 2060/Secretary of State Denials, is scheduled for June 7, 2022. All trainings will be delivered virtually via Zoom.

A hard copy of the training materials is included in the registration fee and mailed via USPS to you approximately 1-week prior to the training session. A digital copy will be emailed to participants.

Registration cutoff dates are listed on the website. Late registrations may be accepted depending on space, however, for online trainings we cannot guarantee late registrants will receive the hard copy of their training materials prior to the date of the session.
