How does this align/not align with what you know about your community?
Members agreed that the data presented, and profiles provided to them does represent the community.
Members discussed how the data helps to shape goals including: the effectiveness of the DARE programs (back in the day). Additional reflections included thoughts on how youth don't fully understand the consequences of their actions and programs like DARE was successful because they highlighted this to young people preemptively. The member shared that unfortunately funding ran out for DARE.
Members shared that it would be helpful for the group to see demographic type data (as a component of the provided data slides or thereafter) on the numbers of kids and adults who were arrested for firearms violations and or violence to be able to look for trends etc.
