IDHS/SUPR Releases Gambling Hotline and Website NOFO

The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS/SUPR) has released a competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Gambling Hotline and Website.

IDHS/SUPR envisions a human service system that enables all to thrive regardless of race, zip code and disability. Through its work, IDHS/SUPR vows to pursue equity and racial justice with intention, vigor, and tenacity.

The Gambling Hotline and Website NOFO is seeking applicants to staff, host, and monitor a 24/7 hotline and public facing website for individuals with gambling disorders. Applicants will have counselors experienced in gambling treatment to provide crisis counseling, resources, and referrals to callers or website visitors. Start-up will occur during the fourth quarter SFY22.

IDHS/SUPR is interested in funding organizations with a history of coordinating and managing a statewide or regional hotline and website. Organizations with a gambling treatment focus and familiarity with gambling services are preferred. Services must be available statewide to the citizens of Illinois 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and have interpreter services available in multiple languages.

IDHS/SUPR anticipates the availability of $125,000 to $250,000 in total funding for the remainder of SFY22. Applicants must submit a program plan that describes the proposed services that will be delivered and the unique features and characteristics of the organization and how it will approach the delivery of the services.

The deadline for submission of the Hotline and Website NOFO is January 28, 2022.

You can find the NOFO at IDHS: Substance Use Prevention & Recovery Grant Information - FY 2022 (state.il.us).
