Family Participation Fee Information

Family Participation Fees:

Family Participation Fees are payments made by families for Early Intervention (EI) services that are subject to fees. Not all EI services are subject to fees. Direct services, like Physical Therapy, Developmental Therapy, or Speech Therapy are subject to fees. Other services such as Service Coordination, Evaluations, Assessments and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) Development are not subject to fees. You can find a detailed list of services subject to fees in the EI Cornerstone Family Fee Report you receive from your Service Coordinator.

For additional information on Family Participation Fees, please see the Illinois Early Intervention Services System Family Participation Fees Program Fact Sheet.

Beginning Monday, September 20, 2021, EI families may now pay their family fees electronically via a computer, laptop, smart device, or phone. Families can pay online or via telephone through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.  This option is made available by using the Illinois E-Pay system offered by the Illinois State Treasurer's Office.

After September 30, 2021, payments made by paper check will no longer be accepted. Checks received at the former Post Office Box number after September 30, 2021, will be returned to sender to follow the new electronic process. This may cause delays in applying the payment to the account.
