  • A person cannot participate as a member of more than one SNAP household or in more than one county, area, or state in any month, unless the person is a resident of a shelter for battered women and children and was a member of a household containing the person who had abused him or her
  • Residents of a shelter are considered living in the county, area, or state where the shelter is located.  A battered person and their children placed in a private home are considered living in the county or area that serves the private home.
  • Only, if needed, the shelter is contacted to verify the residence in the county, area. or state.
  • Due to the confidentiality of the shelter's address, notices, letters, and benefits may be sent to the FCRC for pick-up or to the shelter's post office box.
