Unconscious bias exists in all of us. It helps us make quick decisions by identifying patterns that pop up in the day-to-day life. This inherent bias is not always a bad thing but when we allow those biases to influence other people's opinions without the proper information or context we run into trouble. The theoretical framework for the role of implicit bias in workplace is based on well-established empirical findings in social psychology and research. In this session, attendees will learn about the different types of bias, what it looks like in the government and non-profit sector and how we can start to address the biases we have and provide a safer more welcoming environment for all.
