PM 05-08-07-b: Group Home Acting as Payee of Unit

When the SNAP unit is a group of residents and one of the members leaves the group home, the departing client receives a share of the SNAP benefits as follows:

• If the unit turned their SNAP benefits over to the group home and the client leaves before the 16th day of the fiscal month, the client is given one-half of their prorated share of the unit's monthly benefit; or
• If the unit has the SNAP benefits, the departing client is entitled to a prorated share of any remaining SNAP benefits.

A resident who is a one-person unit and has their own SNAP benefits keeps them when they leave the group home.
