For residents who have a group home employee as their authorized representative, approve the case as a one-person SNAP unit. Approve as a one-person SNAP unit whether the SNAP benefits are:

• used by the group home to buy food to be prepared for or by the client; or
• given to the resident so they can buy food or meals prepared by the group home.

For residents who apply for SNAP benefits on their own or through an approved representative of their choosing, determine the SNAP unit as follows:

• See PM 04-05-00  for how to set up the SNAP unit if the resident buys and prepares their food on their own or with others; or
• Approve the case as a one-person SNAP unit if the resident buys their food from the group home.
