Allowable Medical Expenses
A qualifying member's medical expenses in excess of $35 are an allowable deduction.

Determining Eligibility
For SNAP units with a qualifying member, see WAG 13-01-03-a for the special treatment of the unit's expenses.
When determining eligibility for these units, except for categorically eligible units, only use the Net Monthly Income Standard (see WAG 13-01-01-b). Categorically eligible units do not have to meet a net income test, but are ineligible if net income is above the level where benefits are issued.
Restaurant Meals Program for Qualifying Members
A qualifying member household and their spouses may be eligible to participate in the Restaurant Meals Program (see PM 06-32-00). Staff are advised to pay close attention to applications specific to AABD for qualifying and disabled customers.
