SUPR Staffing Update
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the resignation of SUPR Chief of Staff, Danielle (Dani) Kirby, effective June 1, 2021.
We will miss her presence and contributions tremendously. Dani has been an asset to the Department and Division for many years.
Please join us in wishing Dani the very best in her future endeavors. We appreciate all her work and dedication to IDHS/SUPR!

Supporting Family Webinar
According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), research supports that substance use disorder (SUD) treatment is reinforced when families are involved in the treatment process. As the SUD field strives to improve family involvement in treatment services, creating therapeutic alliances with the family can be a challenge.

FY 2021 Final Payment and Data Submission
A reminder that the FY 2021 final submission due date for billing all non-Medicaid Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) funded services is August 2, 2021 by 5:00 PM. It is critically important that DARTS or manual billing errors be resolved when they occur as delays in billing reconciliation from the vendor that result in non-accepted or late submissions will not be eligible for payment through the court of claims.

DMH Certified Recovery Support Specialist/Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Trainings
The Illinois Department of Human Services/Division of Mental Health will be hosting six equivalent virtual training opportunities. These trainings will be offered as six half day trainings and each session will be offered three different days and times during the week to allow participants to select the most convenient time to attend. Sessions 1-4 focus on Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) Core Domains and Sessions 5-6 focus on the CRSS Ethics.
CEU's will be provided within one month following the last training date for each session. Individuals will receive the CEU hours based on their actual attendance and participation in the training (WebEx automates this data). Please note that pre-registration is REQUIRED.
Who Should Attend?
- CRSS and CPRS professionals who wish to increase their skills
- Individuals interested in pursuing either the CRSS or CPRS credential
- Supervisors of peer recovery support specialists and other CRSS or CPRS staff

COVID-19 Exceptions
A gentle reminder that COVID-19 exceptions are still in effect and have no expiration date at this time. Services delivered through Telehealth are still acceptable.
Please review the Provider Notice from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) dated March 20, 2020, "Telehealth Services Expansion Prompted by COVID-19".
IDHS/SUPR has also sent several communications regarding this exception.
Recovery Residences Registry
The IDHS/SUPR Recovery Residence Registry has been moved to Illinois Helpline for Opioids and Other Substances to streamline searches, rather than looking in a separate place for recovery residence information. Information in the registry helps IDHS/SUPR better understand recovery residences' capacity and support for Medication Assisted Recovery. If you partner with a residence that is not listed, please invite them to register and/or contact Kimberly.Sriner@illinois.gov to list the organization.
