The Bureau of Policy Development notifies the Family Community Resource Center (FCRC) when a treatment facility is disqualified from the SNAP program by the United States Department of Agriculture. When a facility is disqualified, its employees cannot act as authorized representatives. Residents of a disqualified facility do not qualify for Food Assistance (SNAP/State Food) benefits while living in the facility and outpatients cannot use their Food Assistance benefits at the facility. If a facility is on the listing of approved SUPR facilities but there is reason to believe that a facility is disqualified, a Request for Specific Case Guidance form may be sent to the Bureau of Policy Development (BPD) to confirm the facility's status (do not delay the processing of an application if the facility is found on the approved listing).
When a facility is disqualified, the FCRC must:
Note: If there is reason to believe that a treatment facility is misusing benefits, promptly notify the Local Office Administrator (LOA) of the FCRC so that Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) can be notified.
