Policy Memo

  • Due to an Administrative Directive, the Department of Human Services will end the Work First Pay-After-Performance as a TANF Core Activity effective July 1, 2021.
  • Workers should immediately stop enrolling new TANF customers in Work First.
  • Active TANF customers at risk of exhausting the TANF 60-month limit may be enrolled in Work First on a volunteer basis.
  • A Manual Release will follow this Policy Memo with specific instructions to staff.

Due to an Administrative Directive, the Department of Human Services will end Work First Pay-After-Performance as an TANF Core Activity effective July 1, 2021. Workers should immediately stop enrolling new TANF customers in Work First. A manual release will be forthcoming for this policy change.

Active TANF Customers

Active TANF customer at risk of losing their TANF eligibility due to the 60-month limit may volunteer and be enrolled in Work First.

IES

A Manual Release will be forthcoming with specific instructions for workers on disenrolling customers from the Work First activity.

Responsibility and Services Plan (RSP)

A Manual Release will be forthcoming with specific instructions for updating the RSP for customers that were previously enrolled in the Work First activity.
