PM 03-06-01-b

Enter the earnings and weekly hours via AIS, ACM, or IPACS using the appropriate income code. From 07/97 through 09/98, the Form 552 Item 90 codes below stop the counter for all adults in the case if the amount is greater than zero and Source is F (or weekly hours are 20 or more). From 10/98 through 09/99, the counter stops if the amount is greater than zero and the total weekly hours are at least 25 for 04 cases or 35 for 06 cases (or Source is F, if weekly hours field is not entered yet). Starting 10/99, the counter stops if the amount is greater than zero and the total weekly hours are at least 30 for 04 cases or 35 for 06 cases.

The Item 90 codes that stop the counter are:

  • 714 AmeriCorp VISTA
  • 717 Job Corps
  • 801 self-employment
  • 802 employment
  • 803 college work-study

Code 802 includes regular employment and other nonexempt earnings, such as On-the-Job Training and WIA. Codes 714, 717, and 803 are exempt income and are not budgeted against the TANF payment.

Item 90 code 506, Work First, does not stop the counter. Participation in Work Experience does not stop the counter. If a person's counter is 61 or more, it does not stop due to work.

new textEnter 'S' in the NO. Column of Item 90 Code 802 if employment is from a subsidized program. Contact the HCD Bureau of Employment and Training if unsure whether the income is from a subsidized program when employment is through a contracted provider.
