WAG 02-08-02-a.
An applicant who qualifies for expedited services must be interviewed the day of application or the next workday.
Process the application using regular processing timeframes if the applicant does not come to the interview or gives up the right to an expedited interview. If you find out during a regular eligibility interview that the applicant qualifies for
expedited service, approve expedited benefits from the date of the regular interview.
When you get a mail-in or faxed application and the applicant qualifies for expedited service, call the applicant and schedule an appointment for the next workday. If you cannot reach the applicant by phone, send a letter that asks them to call for an
interview appointment.
Send the letter no later than the day after the application was received. Process the application using regular processing timeframes. If the applicant calls for an appointment and still qualifies for expedited services, begin expedited processing
timeframes.
