On Dec 12, The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) announced the recipients of $4.5 million in funding for community-based activities to advance racial healing in counties across the state. 179 award recipients across Illinois are preparing to host racial healing activities, developing more compassion, racial understanding and equity across the state. The organizations will use funding to create community-centric, inclusive spaces to talk, learn and grow, supporting Healing Illinois's overarching goals.
