Host: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work and Illinois Extension
What: "Bold Conversations" was created to bring parents together, in a relaxed atmosphere, to have a respectful and honest exchange of ideas on how we can help our children address the challenges they may face. Bold Conversations is not a lecture. We facilitate and support the discussion, but your thoughts, feelings, and opinions drive the conversation.
This time, the conversations are all about race. Participants will engage in conversations connected to recent national and local events, and cover topics related to: White Privilege and Power; Racial Constructs and Identity; Social and Emotional Learning; Microaggressions and Implicit Bias
When: Saturdays, December 12 and January 9 and Tuesdays, December 22 and January 19
Where: Virtual through Zoom
Who: Illinois parents
