Action Memo

Summary

  • As part of the notice improvement initiative, the Bureau of Policy Development and other Central Office staff are taking steps to improve the Mid-Point Reporting process.
  • Currently Mid-Point Reports (Form 2890) are mailed a day after schedule cut-off in the 5th month of the SNAP household's certification period and are due to the Family Community Resource Center (FCRC) by the 2nd day of the 6th month.
  • To determine if mailing Form 2890 earlier in the month has an impact on the percentage of forms returned, May Mid-Point Reports (due 04/02/2020) will be mailed approximately one week prior to the April schedule cut-off date (03/16/2020). Central Office staff will do an analysis to determine if mailing Form 2890 earlier in the month makes a difference in the timely return rate of the form.

Mid-Point Reports Mailed Early

This memo is to alert FCRC staff May Mid-Point Reports (due 04/02/2020) will be mailed approximately one week prior to the April schedule cut-off date (03/16/2020).

FCRC Action

The earlier mailing date does not change how Mid-Point Reports should be processed. Staff should continue to process Mid-Point Reports using current processing procedures. If there is a change in future mailings staff will be notified.
